AIRLab is participating to the Politecnico di Milano IIT Unit, a research unit co-funded by Politecnico di MIlano and the |Italian Institute of Technology. Research of our unit is mainly done in these areas: Affective Computing, Computer Vision and Image Analysis, Robotics, Affective Computing, Brain-Computer Interfaces, Robot design and building, Robotic Mapping, Simultaneous Localization And Mapping

AIRLab-IITLab is dedicated to activities co-funded by the Italian Institute of Technology. It is located in the building of the Department of Electronics and Information located in via Rimembranze di Lambrate, 14, Milan. Locate it on Google Maps

The lab hosts activities related to Brain-Computer Interfaces (BCI) and Affective Computing applied to rehabilitation. Access to AIRLab-IITLab is reserved to authorized users who have been especially enabled to use this lab by their tutor. The key of the AIRLab - IITLab is provided to enabled users by the doorkeeper at the main entrance of the Lambrate building.

Some experiments require external controlled conditions (no mobiles must ring, no people have to talk...) and particular instruments (Electroencephalographs, Biofeedback and neurofeedback systems). If this is the case, you can book the IIT-Lab by going to its own page within the AIRWiki (of course you have to be a registered user to do that).

Main projects

Development of an autonomous wheelchair to be controlled by a Brain-Computer Interface and eventually other devices (voice control, touch screen, joystick, ...).

Modeling the affective state of a patient involved in a robotic-assisted rehabilitation therapy session to improve the effectiveness of the therapy.

Development of a P300-based BCI for writing and control of external devices.
